Volunteer Water Monitor
What it is:
A simple app for Volunteer Water Monitors. It helps you navigate to your site and quickly record your readings.
All your records, saved by site, in one place. No soggy clipboards required.
Quickly save readings. Each record has all the required info along with additional location and weather data.
If your location is in the middle of a lake you can leave the GPS at home.
Why?
What it Does:
What Does it Cost?
At first I built this app for myself. I had been monitoring a site for a few years and I got sick of managing wet sheets of paper and a clipboard while I was taking reading in the middle of a lake (usually from a paddle board). Over the next few years add a second monitoring location, and a GPS almost lost to the lake and I decided to turn my notes file into a real app.
Captures all your readings with the required data points, and can save each record by location.
Supports multiple monitoring sites and lets you view records by location for easy entry at the end of the season.
Helps you. navigate to your site(s).
Enter records after the fact so every treading is on one place.
Export all you data (in JSON format) if you decide to not use the app.
It’s free! The app is free to use, I built it for myself and am happy to keep it going. If you would like to donate to the project and help support its development or hosting costs you can Donate here.
I wrote a couple weeks ago about getting this app out the door in by the end of June to start a new project in July. It’s Jul 1st and I’m a day late, but the app is approved for beta testing.
